Decompression Tables and Our Why

Finding Relief from Disc Pain: How Spinal Decompression Can Help You Heal Naturally

If you're living with constant low back or neck pain, you know how exhausting it can be — physically, emotionally, and mentally. Whether you've been diagnosed with a herniated disc, bulging disc, or severe spinal degeneration, the pain can interrupt your sleep, limit your movement, and leave you feeling hopeless.

At Stone Chiropractic Health Center, we understand what you’re going through — and we want you to know there is hope.

We’ve recently added Spinal Decompression Therapy to our office to help support patients who need a more targeted, effective approach to healing disc-related conditions. This therapy can be life-changing for the right patients — and it’s available right here in our clinic.

What Is Spinal Decompression Therapy?

Spinal decompression therapy (also known as nonsurgical spinal decompression) is a gentle, computer-guided treatment designed to relieve pressure on spinal discs. You’ll lie comfortably on a specialized traction table that slowly stretches and relaxes your spine in a controlled, precise way.

This process creates negative pressure within the discs, helping:

  • Bulging or herniated discs retract back into position

  • Spinal fluid and nutrients flow more effectively to damaged areas

  • Reduce inflammation and pressure on nearby nerves

  • Accelerate your body’s natural healing process

It’s similar to flexion-distraction therapy, a technique we already use in the office, but with more controlled traction — especially helpful for those suffering with disc damage, nerve compression, or degeneration.

Why We Added This Therapy

We didn’t just add decompression because it’s popular. We added it because we’ve lived through the pain, and we know what works.

Dr. Sutherland personally experienced a severe disc herniation at L4-L5 while attending chiropractic school. The pain radiated down his left leg for months, making it nearly impossible to sit, sleep, or function normally. Multiple doctors told him surgery was his only option.

But he wasn’t ready to accept that.

Instead, Dr. Sutherland turned to chiropractic care and decompression therapy — and found relief. Through consistent adjustments and traction-based treatments, his pain began to fade, and his spine began to heal naturally. Today, he’s pain-free, fully active, and dedicated to helping others avoid the suffering he went through.

You're Not Alone

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or frustrated with your pain — we understand. We’ve helped many patients just like you find relief through a combination of custom chiropractic care and spinal decompression.

This therapy isn’t for everyone, but when used appropriately, it can be a game-changer for healing disc injuries without surgery or medication.

Want to Know If You’re a Candidate?

We evaluate every patient carefully to determine the best approach for your specific condition. If decompression is the right fit for you, we’ll walk you through the process and tailor a plan to support your recovery.

Let’s take the first step together. You don’t have to live with disc pain forever — and you don’t have to do it alone.

Call us today to schedule a consultation. Relief might be closer than you think.
